Every issue is designed, published and printed in Scotland, and made the long way: we visit the places, sit at the kitchen tables of the people we write about, and photograph most of it ourselves. Issue 13 runs from an off-grid hut on a Perthshire hillside to a weekend on Mull, the glens of Angus and the long road to Rannoch, with a special feature on the mountain rescue volunteers who were called on more than 1,200 times in 2025 alone.
Made for dark afternoons and the long way home.

Questions, answered
This is a pre-order — when will my copy arrive?
+
Issue 13 is with the printers just now. We'll start posting copies out in about three weeks, and subscribers get theirs first. Order now and yours is reserved from the print run.
What comes with a pre-order?
+
Every pre-order includes a free bookmark and an A5 print of the front cover, the same as subscriber copies get. No code needed, they go in the parcel.
When do new issues come out?
+
Twice a year, in April and October. Subscribers get their copies posted first, before general release, and hear about each new issue ahead of everyone else.
Where do you ship, and how much is postage?
+
Worldwide, from Scotland. Postage is calculated at checkout based on where you are, so you'll see the full cost before you pay anything.
Is there a digital version?
+
Digital editions of back issues are £10 and yours instantly, readable on any device. A full digital membership with every back issue is coming to hiddenscotland.com soon.
Do issues sell out?
+
Each issue is printed in a single run. Once an issue sells through, it isn't reprinted, which is why some early issues are now scarce. If a back issue is listed, it's in stock.
Is it a good gift?
+
We think so, and reviewers seem to agree. Every order is carefully packaged, and pre-order and subscriber copies arrive hand wrapped in tissue with a bookmark and a print of the cover. Gift subscriptions are available too.
I run a shop. Can I stock Hidden Scotland?
+
We're stocked by independents across Scotland. If you run a shop and would like to stock us, email hello@hiddenscotland.co.
